Vivium Care Group Implements VirtualSharp Software
For DR with NetApp Storage
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on July 27, 2012 at 2:44 pmVirtualSharp Software Corp., provider of automated DR solutions for private and public clouds, announced
that healthcare provider Vivium Care Group has implemented its product for DR
orchestration of applications running on VMware vSphere and using NetApp
storage.
The solution was architected and implemented by OneSolution, one of
VirtualSharp’s partners in Europe.
"We are delighted that
Vivium Care Group has chosen OneSolution and VirtualSharp to modernize their
DR," said Michael Hillewaert, VP of international sales at
VirtualSharp Software. "This successful
implementation demonstrates the importance of aligning IT SLAs with critical
business functions."
Vivium Care Group is a European healthcare provider that
offers its services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week including residential care, nursing
homes and home care. Due to the nature of its business, 24×7 IT service
availability is an uncompromising objective for the organization.
"In case of a disaster,
the IT organization must guarantee rapid recovery of all applications and data
in an alternate data center," said Wilfred Groeneveld, IT manager at
Vivium Care Group. "With replication
and backup solutions, we made progress but did not have any certainty that
after a restore, critical applications would actually function. By using
VirtualSharp’s ReliableDR in a VMware virtualized infrastructure with NetApp
storage, we now have that certainty."
"The beauty of the combined NetApp and
VirtualSharp solution is the testing automation of the recovery site,"
said Martin Bloem, ICT service delivery manager at Vivium Care Group. "VirtualSharp verifies that the servers and
applications are operational, and reports what the total time of the DR process
would be. In case of an emergency, we can now bring back production systems
with the simple push of a button."
