Powered by Microsoft Windows Azure
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on July 18, 2012 at 2:54 pmGeminare, Inc. announced, at Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC), the introduction of myVault Email Archive powered by Microsoft Windows Azure, a data archiving, search and retrieval service run from the Windows Azure Cloud.
myVault Email Archive powered by Windows Azure is a partner-managed, self-serve offering that requires no on-site software or hardware and sets up in minutes. The service is compatible with both on-premises and cloud-hosted email servers and services from virtually all email providers, and is now available through Microsoft’s Windows Azure Marketplace.
myVault Email Archive allows Microsoft partners to expand their cloud data management portfolio without additional infrastructure. The service provides white-labeling allowing resellers to brand and sell their offering after registration.
Geminare CEO, Joshua Geist, said: "Partner response to myVault has been outstanding and the feedback is consistent: resellers love the rich feature set, the instant white-label capability, the customer self-serve deployment model and the ability to bill their customers directly, representing new opportunities to develop on-going customer relationships."
Geist added: "And as equally enticing are the recurring-revenue model and industry-leading margins that are available in perpetuity."
In addition to encryption, archiving, indexing and legal-hold capability, myVault offers features such as high-speed nested searches and auditable, data storage keys. Built on Geminare’s patented CORE Platform – a multi-tiered billing and management enablement engine – myVault delivers functionality that allows distributors, resellers and even end customers to brand the offering online within seconds.
Following the recent announcement of a Strategic Alliance with Microsoft, myVault Email Archive powered by Windows Azure leverages the integration between Geminare’s CORE Platform and the Windows Azure Marketplace. This integrated capability allows ISVs looking to migrate their traditional software products into cloud solutions through the CORE Platform. ISVs can manage their partner ecosystem in a multi-tiered fashion, including capabilities from sales, provisioning, management and reporting through to final billing processes. Through the CORE Platform, ISV’s can leverage the Azure Marketplace and its global customer reach.
Walid Abu-Hadba, Microsoft corporate VP, developer and platform evangelist, confirmed: "Geminare delivered what they committed to, and we are delighted with the results. myVault Email Archive for Windows Azure is a high-value, sophisticated offering. It allows partners and customers alike to dispense with building hardware-driven, self-managed solutions."
Abu-Hadba added: "We are very encouraged by the positive feedback we’ve seen so far from both partners and customers, and expect strong traction in the cloud-based archiving space."
"Customers are looking to solve IT challenges in more cost-effective, unobtrusive ways, while partners want to align with clients more strategically," said Enterprise Strategy group senior analyst, Jason Buffington, who focuses on data protection. "Cloud-based solutions enable both goals, without requiring lengthy implementations or complex delivery models. Add those business needs to the technical challenges of archiving, backup, and disaster recovery, and it’s easy to see how a simple-to-deploy, easy-to-use managed service such as Geminare’s myVault can spur rapid growth. By utilizing the Windows Azure Cloud, Geminare is acknowledging global resellers who need service offerings and infrastructure support – on demand and affordably. We look forward to watching the momentum continue across the expanded Geminare RaaS suite this year."
myVault is the first of Geminare’s Recovery as a Service (RaaS) offerings selected by Microsoft for inclusion in the Windows Azure cloud, with the balance of Geminare’s BC/DR portfolio, including cloud recovery, rapid recovery and online backup, scheduled for availability in Windows Azure by year end.
