Drobo Will Embrace Thunderbolt
In future storage arrays

The company also confirmed that it will be adding native Thunderbolt support for both Apple and Windows computers in future Drobo storage arrays.
"Our customers have been very clear to us about their desire for Drobos with Thunderbolt support," said Tom Buiocchi, CEO at Drobo. "They want and expect the best storage experience ever, and we intend to keep delivering it to them."
With Drobo Thunderbolt connectivity, data to and from the device will run up to 20 times faster than with USB 2.0 connectivity and up to 12 times faster than with FireWire 800. In addition to Thunderbolt, Drobo will make increases in processing power and add support for SSDs to ensure top performance. Further enhancements to form factor, power management, and cooling technology result in an overall design that is not only significantly faster, but also more compact, greener, and quieter.
