R1Soft Expands CDP to SQL Server ($699)
Its backup software protects now 250,000 servers worldwide.
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on May 23, 2012 at 2:21 pmR1Soft, a division of Idera, Inc. and the developer of CDP backup and recovery software for servers in the cloud, announced that R1Soft CDP 4.0 is available with a Microsoft SQL Server add-on for high-performance, low-impact protection of SQL Server databases.
The company also announced that more than 250,000 Windows and Linux servers in some of the world’s largest data centers are protected with CDP, the disk-based server backup software for Windows and Linux servers.
The SQL Server add-on for CDP 4.0 provides:
- SQL Server backups as frequently as every hour
- Minimal overhead and minimal impact to SQL Server performance
- Encryption (Disk Safe Encryption) using AES-256
- Compression
"With more than 250,000 Windows and Linux servers protected, it’s clear that CDP has become the go-to backup solution for both private and public cloud infrastructures that demand an affordable and highly scalable backup application that works equally well on both Windows and Linux platforms," said David Wartell, VP of R1Soft Products at Idera. "Improved SQL Server backup broadens CDP’s coverage with little to no impact on the database performance. It’s a win-win for both enterprises and service providers protecting their data."
The new version of R1Soft CDP also now includes a multi-volume snapshot capability for Windows servers, improvements to MySQL backup, and enhancements to CDP’s SOAP-based API leveraged by large deployments for administration.
Pricing and Availability
R1Soft CDP 4.0 is available and is priced at $699. The SQL Server add-on is $150 per CDP agent.
