This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on May 15, 2012 at 2:49 pmTreeHouse Interactive, Inc.,
a Utah-based company that develops and sells a suite of marketing solutions and
services that work in conjunction with CRM applications, was in need of a new
backup system.
"Our storage requirements
had grown 800% over the past three years," said Craig Flynn,
president of TreeHouse Interactive. "It
was vital for us to find a very dependable and automated backup solution that
would work as planned and not create any headaches. The RDX QuikStation was
that solution."
The Tandberg Data RDX
QuikStation is an eight-dock, network-attached removable disk library that is
designed to provide a multi-cartridge platform for data protection and offsite
DR. Users can configure the appliance in up to 10 storage device modes,
including as a tape library, tape autoloader, virtual RDX drives, standalone
tape drives, generic disk drives or a combination of tape and disk. By using
1TB RDX cartridges, a maximum online capacity of 8TB can be achieved, with
limitless offline capacity.
According to Flynn, his clients come to TreeHouse to automate the key
business processes associated with partner relationship management, channel
sales, sales force automation and multi-channel marketing to increase revenue
and decrease costs. With millions of applications records updated daily as well
as myriad portals, email campaigns and internal development data, TreeHouse
maintains a heavy workload. They manage a total of 10TB of data split between
the development and production departments.
"It was very important
for us to install a backup appliance that worked seamlessly with our existing
backup software, without any configuration issues," said Sione Vimahi,
systems engineer at TreeHouse. "The
RDX QuikStation quickly detected our software. The fact that the appliance was
instantly compatible was a major factor in our decision to go with the product."
The RDX QuikStation is used to perform regular backups of the firm’s
20 servers.
"Our backups must run
smoothly," said David Barnett, director of IT at TreeHouse. "Our TreeHouse clients cannot afford service
or host disruptions. The RDX QuikStation has been a flexible and reliable
backup device, allowing us to perform speedy backups and access our data when
necessary."
