This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on May 10, 2012 at 2:57 pmElephantDrive, in online storage, protection, and access, announced an alliance with Thecus Tech., Corp.
The partnership will bring ElephantDrive’s digital storage backup module to the Thecus NAS servers, offering safe and secure protection to businesses.
"In the modern corporate world, the ability to store and share important information safely and securely is a key to maintaining and expanding business," Florence Shih, GM of Thecus. "We are confident that this new partnership can deliver the best integrated cloud solution to our customers."
The partnership offers simplicity, providing one program to store all important data from multiple devices on multiple platforms, and unifying the local and cloud storage experience. ElephantDrive’s backup module is designed to protect critical data by optimized transfer to a secure cloud storage system. The module enables selected data on the servers to be synchronized (in real-time) to the ElephantDrive cloud storage platform, with software providing accelerated and safe transfers.
"We are excited to add Thecus to our roster of outstanding hardware partners," added Ryan Sweeney, partner development manager for ElephantDrive. "We know cloud storage solutions are most effective when coupled tightly with fast, reliable local storage and this integration will make it easy for end users to get started."
Once uploaded, ElephantDrive offers military-level protection for data with 128-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) security keeping the transfer safe, and 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) encrypting the data once it is at rest. The service also offers administrative tools for versioning and archiving data, and the ability to access and share files anytime and anywhere (including on mobile devices) with the ElephantDrive cloud.
ElephantDrive and Thecus are also announced a special trial offer of their new service; new users can log in through their server’s administration interface, complete an application and receive 50GB of service free for the first month. After the first month is completed, users can either upgrade to a premium ElephantDrive account – or keep using the service for free, if uploaded data is kept under 2GB.
