Start-Up Cache IQ Demonstrated RapidCache
NAS acceleration caching appliance with DRAM and SSDs
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on April 23, 2012 at 3:03 pmCache IQ, Inc., an enterprise storage solutions company, was demonstrating its product RapidCache at NAB 2012.
RapidCache is an intelligent NAS caching appliance that delivers enhanced performance to I/O intensive applications while relieving overburdened storage systems. It identifies applications’ active data sets, and then uses a combination of DRAM and SSDs to improve performance.
"We are excited to be at NAB, and to show enterprise attendees how they can use RapidCache powered by Intel processors to achieve needed performance levels without purchasing unneeded storage capacity," said Joel Trammell, president and CEO of Cache IQ.
Unlike other NAS accelerators, RapidCache provides a smart approach to NAS caching by using simple policies to control what data get cached-guaranteeing the best performance for the most important applications. It also provides insight into storage through RapidView, its integrated analytics and visualization product. By providing complete visibility, RapidView enables administrators to assess network storage performance and troubleshoot problems quickly and efficiently.
"Cache IQ’s recently-released product combines the intelligence, I/O and performance in Intel Technologies and its unique Cache IQ software to form RapidCache", said Kerry Johns-Vano, marketing director for the Storage Group within Intel Corp.‘s Datacenter and Connected Systems Group. "This network-based storage solution is powered by an Intel Xeon E5 processor, 320 Series SSD, X520 Ethernet Adapter and FM4000 Ethernet switch to make existing storage work smarter and faster."
Cache IQ showed their RapidCache technology from the Storage Zone of the Intel Studio Experience Theater in the Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas, NV
