CoSoSys Reveals Endpoint Protector 4 for Linux Ubuntu and openSUSE
For protecting network from threats posed by portable storage devices
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on April 13, 2012 at 3:05 pmCoSoSys Ltd. has launched the new Ubuntu and openSUSE desktop client versions for its device control and data loss prevention solution, Endpoint Protector 4.
With the new versions, Endpoint Protector 4 is virtually platform independent, simplifying its integration into organizations’ networks and offering cross platform control and detailed monitoring over the use of the latest portable storage devices on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux distributions Ubuntu and openSUSE.
The need for a cross platform device control and DLP solution emerged from the variety of operating systems currently used by companies, universities or governmental institutions worldwide, which added a higher degree of efficiency and productivity, but at the same time increased their vulnerability when facing security threats such as data thefts or accidental data losses. Furthermore, organizations are either not using any device control or security technology for protecting their network Linux endpoints.
"We have to make sure that all network endpoints meet the necessary security requirements regardless of the operating system they are running on", said Roman Foeckl, CoSoSys CEO. "Adding Linux support considerably reduces the security risks that come with the wide variety of operating systems that defines today’s working environments and positions Endpoint Protector as a strong and efficient cross platform device control and data loss prevention solution."
Endpoint Protector 4 is available as hardware and virtual appliance, with support for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and openSUSE 11.4.
The data and device security solution ensures a proactive protection against both inside and outside threats for organizations in an efficient manner with integration and no operating system constraints.
