This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on March 26, 2012 at 3:11 pmStorageQuest Inc., in data and archive management software and hardware, announced its ecosystem partnership with IP Video Surveillance software Milestone Systems Inc.
The StorageQuest Optical Volume Manager (OVM) is a long term archive add-on application for the Milestone XProtect Corporate Video Surveillance application.
StorageQuest’s OVM, along with Milestone’s XProtect application coupled with a DISC Archiving Systems Blu-Ray library or StorageQuest’s Optical Network Appliance offers an automated long term video archive solution.
Th application writes video archive data in the background to optical media through robotic or non-robotic optical libraries. Video Footage is automatically spanned over as many discs as necessary without user intervention.
XProtect Smart Client viewer is able to automatically pull the data from the configured archive location for playback of archived video data. Targeted video footage may also be written to Blu-Ray volumes using the XProtect export feature.
"Demand for video surveillance is increasing at an unprecedented rate. Compliance and Regulations often dictate data to be retained for long periods of time. We work within industries such as government, retail, transportation, finance, gaming and healthcare to ensure our customers long term video archival needs are met," said Brendan Lelieveld-Amiro, director of product development and operations.
Video Archival Solution with StorageQuest’s OVM will be demonstrated at the Milestone Systems booth at the International Security Conference (ISC West) being held in Las Vegas, Nevada from March 28th to March 30th, 2012.
