has collaborated with Marquis Broadcast, in content workflows and media integration software, to create a
complete Avid archive and retrieval solution.
Cache-A’s archive appliances have been qualified with Marquis’ Project Parking
to allow the archiving of digital source media. Project Parking
offers a fast archive and restore process by creating
a copy of any Avid project and media onto any storage device.
"We are very pleased to
work with Marquis Broadcast to provide its customers an easy, yet robust
archive component to their total solution," said Mark Ostlund, VP of Sales and Marketing for Cache-A. "By working closely with our partners, we are able to extend and enhance
Cache-A’s ‘Archiving Made Easy’ approach for today’s digital media
professionals."
"Marquis’ Project Parking
finds media, and Cache-A’s products transfer and archive content to secure,
portable, exchangeable LTO tape cartridges," explained Chris Steele,
product manager, Marquis Broadcast. "In
addition to freeing-up expensive shared storage by taking media off-line, the
portable nature of parked projects makes them ideal for disaster recovery
procedures, business continuity and inter-site workflows."
"The combination of
Marquis’ Project Parking and Cache-A’s archive appliances now provide the most
integrated networked archiving solution in post," said Steele. "The complete solution solves a critical need
in the media and entertainment industry by providing an economical answer to
archiving and storing file-based content in a portable format. Because
Cache-A’s tools allow content to be retrieved regardless of the application or
software environment that recorded it, it also ensures the media will be
accessible even 30 years from now, future-proofing the digital content creation
process."
