Jersey Telecom Delivers Online Backup and Offsite Archiving
Through partnership with Asigra and OnDemand Recovery
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on March 7, 2012 at 2:34 pmJersey Telecom, telecommunication provider for the Channel Islands (which are part of the British Isles) and offshore financial services community, has launched its online backup and recovery services in partnership with Asigra, Inc. and OnDemand Recovery.
OnDemand Recovery has implemented an enterprise-class backup and archive vault powered by Asigra to provide cloud backup and long-term data archiving from Jersey. The new service is built to meet the regulatory and data protection needs of businesses operating in all offshore jurisdictions, leveraging cloud-based data protection. JT will be the exclusive reseller of the OnDemand backup and recovery services in these jurisdictions.
Following an evaluation of the market, backup software developers and managed service providers, JT selected the Asigra based platform proposed by OnDemand Recovery. OnDemand Recovery provided all the system specifications for a replicated enterprise backup and archive vault infrastructure design split across two geographically separate JT data centre locations. Along with implementation and project management services, it also supports JT with technical training, provisioning and escalated support on a 24x7x365 basis.
Tim Ringsdore, Managing Director, JT Enterprise Division explained: "A number of the global offshore jurisdictions do not enjoy high bandwidth telecommunications at this time, but do require enterprise-grade data protection and long-term offsite data retention. This proposition addresses both the needs of larger organisations based in the more established offshore centres and those where storage and network optimisation is critical to services such as these being adopted." Ringsdore added: "The expertise OnDemand Recovery has demonstrated has mitigated a number of risks in enabling us to successfully enter this market; their technical and commercial understanding has proved invaluable."
Eran Farajun, EVP, Asigra, commented: "Data protection demands vary widely from one organisation to the next, especially among those with distributed business locations. This is where Asigra Cloud BackupT shines, providing a highly adaptable platform that is fully customisable to capture a company’s entire digital footprint for secure end-to-end recovery when and where required."
