Tivoli CDP for Files V6.3

Tivoli Continuous Data Protection (CDP) for Files V6.3 from IBM Corp. is a real-time, continuous data protection offering, which means it can either backup your most important files the moment they are saved (real time) or perform the file backup on a more traditional schedule.

It can create multiple versions of your files on the local system for quick recoveries when no network connection is available and also send an additional copy of the protected data to a remote storage device for disaster recovery purposes.

It offers centralized management capabilities for Microsoft Windows servers, laptops, and desktops. It is designed to deliver continuous protection of critical files for Windows servers, laptops, and desktops that are intermittently connected to a network, with minimal user intervention.

New in V6.3:

• A wizard to simplify recoveries when a complete system rebuild is required
• Automatic expiration of deleted files from remote storage
• Increase to the include and exclude list capacity
• Simplified email backup configuration
• Support for using generic IPv6 addresses for remote backup configuration
• Integration with Tivoli Storage Manager V6.3 as a remote system

Tivoli CDP for Files V6.3 can be licensed to run on a server. It includes central administration options that allow a user to centrally control and manage data protection operations. It is licensed per server.

Tivoli CDP for Files Starter Edition V6.3 is intended to offer continuous data protection to the single user laptop or PC. It provides similar function to Tivoli CDP for Files V6.3, but does not include central administration options. It is licensed per client device.
