Turning Turbo NAS to jukebox with remote control
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on March 1, 2012 at 2:58 pmQNAP Systems, Inc. announced the availability of the QMobile, adding a Music Remote function that turns the Turbo NAS into a jukebox and allows users to remotely control the Music Station on the Turbo NAS with iOS and Android mobile devices.
"The new feature will please music fans," commented Jason Hsu, product manager of QNAP. With Music Remote, after connecting a set of USB speakers to the Turbo NAS, users just need to install QMobile on their mobile devices to control the Music Station remotely without turning on the computer.
"More and more people are using smart phones. Why do we need another remote if we can add it on the smart phone?" Hsu added.
Audiophiles demanding quality sound can replace the USB speakers with Hi-Fi speakers by bridging a supported USB audio adapter in between.
The Music Remote feature works with Turbo NAS that have been upgraded to firmware V3.6.
The iOS version QMobile 1.2.0 is available for free download from the App Store for iPhone and iPod. The Android version QMobile 1.1.0 is available for free download from Android market.
