Crossroads Brings Out Tape Library ReadVerify Appliance 5.0

That includes set of reporting features.

Crossroads Systems, Inc. announced the release of ReadVerify Appliance (RVA) 5.0, the latest edition of its appliance that saves organizations time and money by proactively validating the integrity of tape library systems.

RVA 5.0’s most significant enhancement includes a set of reporting features that provide flexibility for viewing the behavior and operation of tape library resources. The tools are a further step toward ‘active diagnostics’ within a tape environment, as they provide considerably more advanced analytical analysis of potential problem areas.

Organizations can identify complex system interactions to determine impacts on key areas such as network bottlenecks, resource allocations, and errant system behavior. With the ability to correlate multiple metrics simultaneously, administrators can identify hidden relationships and complex interdependencies to rapidly pinpoint an issue’s root cause or spot system inefficiencies. RVA’s diagnostics can save time and money by minimizing library down-time and deferring capital expenditures.

In addition to multi-metric analysis, RVA 5.0’s reporting provides a multi-level drill down into the resources contributing to the selected metrics. With this new capability comes increased system reliability – translating into savings through optimizing the use of existing resources.

"Understanding complex interactions further removes the ‘trial and error’ approach to solving system wide issues, saving time and money," said Elaine Pleshek, senior product manager at Crossroads Systems. "RVA 5.0 and its new reporting capabilities combine to create the industry’s most comprehensive and proactive tape validation system. With the release of RVA 5.0, Crossroads illustrates its commitment to listening to its customers and continually enhancing its solutions to meet the latest tape-related needs."
