Tandberg: Half-Height External LTO-5 Drive With FC

Tandberg Data announced the availability of the LTO-5 HH FC external desktop tape drive. 

Capable of backing up 3 terabytes of data with compression ratio of 2:1 on a cartridge in less than three hours, it provides an effective means of storing large video files, managing workflow within the production environment, and simplifying archiving tasks. Other users with high-performance requirements also will benefit from this easy and inexpensive way to edit, store and archive data.

The tape drive supports LTFS for Mac and Linux, which allows the tape drive to operate like a hard disk for direct access without the need for tape backup software. It simplifies data protection operations and streamlines workflow tasks for high-capacity applications, such as digital content for post-production and film editing in the video, entertainment and broadcast industries.
