The system will be deployed in the agency’s Reston, Virginia data center
and will synchronously replicate to IceWEB unified storage systems at
two other U.S. locations for HA and continuity of operations of mission-critical
applications. Configured for a VMware operating environment, the
systems include twelve 1GbE, four 10GbE and 8GB FC, and 126TB of ENT SAS disk space.

"IceWEB’s robust combination of features and performance for unified data storage is difficult to beat," said Tim McNamee, IceWEB VP Sales. "With our partner, Norsemen Defense Technologies, we easily satisfied all of the USGS’ requirements and a price point that traditional vendors simply couldn’t match."

IceWEB’s Unified Data Storage Systems are for cloud computing applications because they are designed to reduce complexity and control physical storage requirements through VMware compatibility, thin provisioning, compression, deduplication and both asynchronous and synchronous data replication.

They are available through the company’s exclusive value-added distributor Promark Technology throughout the United States through its nationwide network of 1,200 channel partners.
