Carglass Acquires EMC VNX Over NetApp

Achieving "5X performance", reducing power "by 50%"

EMC Corporation announced
Carglass Germany, a vehicle glass repair and replacement company and a
member of The Belron Group, selected EMC VNX unified storage over NetApp, Inc. for
its performance and simple management, in order to improve performance
levels of its mission-critical IT applications, including Oracle
eBusiness Suite, under high workload conditions.

EMC is enabling Carglass to
cut its data center power consumption by 50% and improve its delivery of IT
services to its more than 1,800 employees and numerous customer service centers
throughout Germany.

According to
a new global end user survey by IDC, more customers choose EMC storage than
any other vendor’s for their Oracle environments and other mission critical
applications. The IDC survey joins the recent Wikibon user survey in which EMC
was ranked the number one choice by customers for information infrastructure in
VMware virtual and cloud environments.
