Arkeia Participates in NetApp Alliance Partner Program
Collaboration for backup solution with de-dupe
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on December 1, 2011 at 2:59 pmArkeia Software, Inc. announced its participation in the NetApp Alliance Partner Program as part of its continued commitment to providing the deepest support of storage platforms in the network and data backup to the mid-market enterprise.
While Arkeia has supported the NetApp product line for almost 10 years, this partnership allows Arkeia to deepen its support of NetApp’s NAS and SAN storage products, as well as the NDMP open source standard for data management. Whether the need is to protect a virtualized environment, a traditional data center, or data in the cloud, Arkeia and NetApp work together to maximize the benefits to the customer.
Today, hundreds of mutual customers benefit from Arkeia’s support of NetApp’s storage products for their long term backup. Using NetApp Integrated Data Protection technologies (Snapshot copies and replication) in conjunction with Arkeia provides customers with increased flexibility in how they protect their network data.
"Arkeia data protection software is an ideal complement to NetApp storage," explains George F. Kapaniris, Vice-President of Business Development of NSS Corp., a longtime distributor of Arkeia solutions in Southeastern Europe and simultaneously a Certified Partner of NetApp. "Our customers use Arkeia Network Backup primarily to move backup sets off-site, whether to tape or cloud destinations. Arkeia offers a proven solution that is easy-to-use and easy-to-sell."
Progressive Deduplication
By using Arkeia’s Progressive Deduplication, customers now can lower the disk capacity required to backup any network by up to 95%. "Progressive Deduplication is the next generation of deduplication, optimized for the compression of secondary data and management of backup sets. The technology minimizes network traffic, shortens backup windows, and drastically cuts the cost of tape or disk usage," says Howard Doherty, vice president of Sales at Arkeia Software. "Shorter backup windows and storage cost savings are driving the backup market today. Arkeia’s ability to provide the newest technology for deduplication allows us to meet both of those key drivers for customers."
Protecting Virtualized Environments
As organizations across all market segments migrate to virtualization, Arkeia enables reliable, centralized backups, whatever their combination of virtual and physical environments. Arkeia protects all the major virtualized environments.
