As a
concessionaire of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage Systems (MWSS),
Manila Water provides services to over 6.2 million people from 23 cities and
municipalities of eastern Metro Manila and Rizal Province, which include Pasig,
San Juan, Mandaluyong, Marikina, Taguig, Pateros and parts of Manila and Quezon
City.

Manila Water
is committed to ensure there is clean, safe and reliable water supply for its
clients. The company’s ongoing business transformation and integration strategy
is anchored on IBM smarter systems – IBM eX5 enterprise systems and IBM XIV
storage solutions.

These IBM
systems are set to provide Manila Water with the necessary infrastructure to
support key applications such as an enhanced billing system, customer
relationship management and business intelligence systems to help the company
enhance its services and address rising customer expectations.

"Manila Water has invested in essential
application solutions, but we also need a robust, highly reliable and flexible
infrastructure behind it. The IBM XIV storage solution provides high-end disk
storage and is designed to support massive data growth with unmatched ease of
use. In addition, the IBM System eX5 enterprise server is perfect for the new
era of smarter computing, in that it is optimized for intelligent analytics and
designed to support virtualization while driving data center efficiencies,
"
said Mauricio Franco, Jr., the company’s Chief Information Officer.
