LSI Adds Ingram as Distributor

For Germany, Austria and Switzerland

LSI Corporation
announced the appointment of Ingram Micro
Distribution GmbH
to support its channel business throughout Germany,
Austria and Switzerland.

The agreement begins with immediate effect and will
see Ingram Micro carry LSI’s complete channel portfolio, including MegaRAID
and 3ware
RAID
controllers, HBAs, SAS switches, the WarpDriveË™
SLP-300
acceleration card.

Ingram Micro is a technology distributor and
will serve LSI from its logistics centre located in Straubing, Germany,
extending LSI’s reach to a wider range of customers, and helping to ensure delivery of products. This move to enhance its existing
distribution network demonstrates LSI’s on-going focus and commitment to its
growing channel business. Ingram Micro will also participate in LSI’s Marketing
Development Fund (MDF) programme which provides LSI distributors with certain
financial and resource support for the development of marketing programs and
the creation of further sales opportunities.

"The addition of Ingram Micro to our
existing distribution network will provide us with a wider reach across the
DACH region, better connecting LSI with a larger number and diversity of system
builder accounts across our target vertical markets including general purpose
server, security, digital media, high performance computing and Web 2.0
",
said Thomas Pavel, Director EMEA Channel Sales. "Ingram Micro’s highly efficient warehouse management and proven
reliability will enable LSI to effectively reach a much broader customer base
with our 6Gb/s SAS portfolio.
"

"As a vital link between vendors and
resellers Ingram Micro provides a broad range of products, excellent logistics,
as well as multifaceted services like unique marketing programmes, financial
services and technical support. The collaboration between LSI and Ingram Micro
in the DACH region brings together two market leaders in order to perfectly
serve the channel customers´ needs of innovative and cost-effective solutions,
combined with efficient and reliable delivery
", commented Florian
Gerken, Senior Manager Components, Ingram Micro Distribution GmbH.

LSI has also recently completed the consolidation of its complete channel
portfolio inventory at its European warehouse and distribution centre in
Rotterdam in The Netherlands. The completion of this new facility has enabled
improvement in lead-times and availability across all product lines. LSI’s goal
is that the facility will allow distributors in EMEA to fulfill customer orders
within 2-3 days of order placement for any product, without the need to stock inventories.
