This integration enables interoperability of applications, developed for clouds based on OpenStack Object Storage, with other MezeoCloud storage management clients.

MezeoCloud can now be integrated into the storage services of a cloud based on OpenStack code, providing a proven storage infrastructure and the addition of other APIs supported by MezeoCloud, including the Mezeo Interoperability API compatible with Amazon S3 and Eucalyptus.

MezeoCloud Integration for OpenStack provides additional functionality including storage management through CDMI (the SNIA Cloud Data Management Interface), storage and bandwidth metering, multi tenancy, integration into provisioning, billing and identity management systems as well as offering additional storage APIs.

"Mezeo continues its commitment to provide an architecture for rapid deployment of REST Web Services APIs and additional APIs as the market demands them," states Steve Lesem, President and CEO, Mezeo Software. "This announcement is about bringing additional flexibility to cloud deployments based on OpenStack code. The MezeoCloud platform enables service providers to select the type and quality of storage supporting their cloud infrastructure while providing seamless access to existing applications using OpenStack Object Services. At a business level, this translates into more flexibility, more functionality and more options."

The integration will be available with MezeoCloud 4.1 which will be generally available in Q1 2012.
