Agreement Between Central Data Storage and The Dental Record
To promote and educate dentists on online backup
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on October 3, 2011 at 2:52 pmCentral Data Storage (CDS) has signed an
agreement with The Dental Record.
The
Dental Record is a creation of the Wisconsin Dental Association and endorsed by
the American Dental Association Business Enterprises.
Under
the terms of the agreement the Wisconsin-based company will now feature,
promote and educate dentists from across the country on the CDS Managed Online
Backup Service. Product details will become available on the Dental
record web site and shared with dentists as soon as the American
Dental Association annual session on October 10-13th, 2011 in Las Vegas.
"We are very proud to have The Dental Record in
collaboration with CDS as this is vital for continued growth in the dental
vertical. This major step gives us the opportunity to reach so many more
dentists by working with such a respected and endorsed company who is as
committed to the CDS managed online computer backup and recovery solution as we
are," said Craig Condello, Director of Business Development.
This
announcement aligns with the Central Data Storage strategy about the importance of monitored offsite
computer backup in the dental office. It also reflects on a low cost and
compliant decision a dental office can make without stretching internal
resources to focus and manage a part of the office that requires true
specialized care.
According
to statistics external portable drives, disks and tape have a high failure
rate. The data on these backup methods is typically without encryption so
breach is very possible. The national governing bodies that regulate data
security require notification if these data mediums are lost or stolen. Potential
hefty fines may be levied and negative press associated with the loss will be
reported to local media. To meet the necessary security requirements a data
recovery plan must be in place and protected data moved offsite as a daily
occurrence.
"Vulnerability Management with respect to
electronic patient data protection is an important evolutionary piece to the
private practice sector," said Ed Conklin, President of Central Data
Storage. "With the accelerated help of
The Dental Record we will continue to broaden and relay our services importance
to dentists nationally. We are excited and see great potential with this
agreement. To be a chosen vendor within their product line speaks volumes to
the trust they have in Central Data Storage and the benefits we give to
dentists far beyond others."
