David Barzilai VP Marketing, Mellanox

He joined the company through acquisition of Voltaire.

Mellanox Technologies, Ltd. announced the promotion of David Barzilai to vice president of marketing.

Mr. Barzilai will be reporting to Eyal Waldman, chairman, president and CEO.

David Barzilai joined Mellanox through the acquisition of Voltaire, Ltd, where he served as Voltaire’s vice president of software business.

In his new role, Barzilai will be responsible for Mellanox’s worldwide marketing and the implementation of marketing initiatives designed to expand leadership in existing markets and penetration in key markets.

"Mellanox has quickly become a worldwide application performance leader with an extensive interconnect hardware and software product line critical for IT end-users wishing to increase their data center application performance and return-on-investment," said David Barzilai, vice president of marketing at Mellanox Technologies. "I look forward to working with the company and its OEM partners to leverage its InfiniBand and Ethernet product leadership for further expansion in the HPC, database, financial services, Web 2.0 and cloud markets."

Barzilai has over 20 years of executive experience with leading-edge technology companies. Prior to Mellanox and Voltaire, he served as CEO and Founder of Certagon, a Service Oriented Architecture transaction management company. Prior to Certagon, he was VP Internet Performance Management with Mercury Interactive, and was CEO and Founder of Conduct, a network and system management software company which was acquired by Mercury Interactive in 2000. Prior to managing Conduct, David ran the sales of E&M Computing, an exclusive distributor for Sun Microsystems.

Barzilai holds a Bachelor degree in Computer Science from The Technion, Israel Institute of Technology.
