Matrox Qualifies Glyph GT 062E External RAID
For uncompressed 10-bit editing
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on September 6, 2011 at 3:02 pmGlyph Production Technologies, a professional data storage provider, announced that Matrox Video has finished testing the GT 062E and has qualified it to support the performance necessary for uncompressed 10-bit editing.
Wayne Andrews, Product Manager in the Matrox Video Products Group, said: "We were very happy with the performance of the GT 062E in our test lab. It’s a perfect storage solution to complement Matrox products supporting resolutions up to and including uncompressed 10-bit."
Tests were performed on Mac and Windows operating systems, using Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere applications. Matrox and Glyph recommend using the GT 062E connected via eSATA to a 4-lane eSATA card such as the Sonnet E4P. The RAID mode of the GT 062E should be set to RAID 0 for performance. RAID mode changes are performed using Glyph Manager, a software application that ships with the GT 062E.
About the GT 062E
The GT 062E has became a standard in production workflows. With capacities up to 6TB, the GT 062E includes an eSATA port, which enables over 200MB/s sustained transfer rate in RAID 0 mode. Connected by FireWire 800 or USB 2.0, the GT 062E reports the health of the two internal drives using Glyph Manager software, which constantly monitors Glyph drives using S.M.A.R.T.. With dual SATA drives, an internal power supply and quiet cooling fan, and fault-tolerant RAID modes, the GT 062E has the speed and reliability for content creation applications.
Glyph backups its drives with a 3-year warranty, 2-year Free Basic Data Recovery Policy, and 1-year Advance Replacement (U.S. Continental 48 States only).
