This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on July 14, 2011 at 2:54 pmExaGrid Systems, Inc. reached the 1,000th customer mark, giving ExaGrid the second largest base of scalable disk backup with deduplication systems in the mid-market and small enterprise space. (After EMC. Ed.)
Aeroflex Incorporated, a publicly-traded leading global provider of microelectronic components and test and measurement equipment for the space, avionics, defense, commercial wireless communications, medical and other markets, chose ExaGrid for its price, performance and scalability to manage the company’s business critical backup environment, becoming ExaGrid’s 1,000th customer.
ExaGrid’s achievement of 1,000 customers and the second largest customer base of scalable disk backup deduplication systems in the midmarket and small enterprise marks an additional milestone, validating the industry’s increased movement from tape to disk backup with deduplication in the midmarket and small enterprise space.
"With 1,000 customers and growing, ExaGrid now has over 3,500 systems installed, with more than half of these customers eliminating tape and using replication to a second ExaGrid at an offsite location for disaster recovery," said Bill Andrews, ExaGrid’s CEO. "ExaGrid leads the disk-based backup market with the fastest performance, best scalability without forklift upgrades and best RTO for disaster recovery – all at a market leader price point. We are pleased to have hit this very important milestone while leading the charge in the conversion of tape backup to disk backup."
Among ExaGrid’s 1,000 customers are other leading organizations including 7 Eleven Stores, Boise Cascade, Cleveland Browns, Coors Distributing, Hitachi Consulting, Konica Minolta, Kingston Technologies, Morningstar, U.S. House of Representatives, Volkswagen Credit, and WR Grace.
From that base of customers, ExaGrid is also the only company that has more than 250 published customer success stories on its web site.
"No other product has one in every four customers doing a published success story, further showing how customers feel about disk backup over tape backup," Andrews said. The 250 customer success stories and video testimonials represent more than all of the other disk-based backup vendors combined. Recently, ExaGrid customer, Strategic Hotels & Resorts, Inc. won InfoSecurity‘s 2011 Best Deployment awards in the ‘Best Deployment Scenario – Data Recovery’ category for its strategic use of ExaGrid’s disk-based backup with deduplication system.
ExaGrid’s product has been named Storage Magazine-SearchStorage ‘Product of the Year’ for Backup and Disaster Recovery Hardware. In addition, ExaGrid has been named a ‘Cool Company’ by Gartner, and was the only New England company named to the Wall Street Journal‘s ‘Top Venture-backed companies’ in 2011.
