This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on July 1, 2011 at 3:20 pmContent Management AG, provider of web-based applications and value-added services, announced that U-SYNC. (Taiwan) Services Co., Ltd. launched Cloud Drive, an online storage and backup solution powered by a Chinese-language version of CM4all OnlineDrive.
Headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan, U-SYNC is a web hosting and hardware provider primarily targeting Taiwanese telcos while planning to expand to the Chinese main land during 2011. The new Cloud Drive is currently being offered to end customers via U-SYNC’s partner Asia Pacific Telecom.
"CM4all OnlineDrive strengthens our value proposition by enabling us to offer our customers a complete package of sophisticated server hardware combined with a market proven online storage and data management application. We built on that and created iPhone, iPad and Android Phone apps that allow our customers to conveniently access Cloud Drive on the go. This way they can both open and share files stored in their account as well as back-up files from their mobile devices to protect them against data loss. Additionally, we offer our customers the option to access their media files such as videos and images directly from their set-top boxes," explained Paul Wang, Chief Information Officer of U-SYNC.
With CM4all OnlineDrive, U-SYNC meets the growing demand for online storage and backup solutions in Taiwan. The application’s structured file manager features drag and drop operations and facilitates file administration. A Java-based uploader enables uploading of multiple files or folders and automatically extracts ZIP archives. Users are able to log in to their accounts from anywhere in the world in order to download, modify, and save their digital documents, music and image files. Guest accounts created by the account owner permit friends and colleagues to access shared folders and allow for cooperation regardless of the users’ location. U-SYNC also offers apps for iOS and Android enabling file access from smart phones and tablet PCs.
Additionally, a U-SYNC-branded backup client allows both PC and Mac users to backup their digital resources according to rules they can define. With scheduling, file synchronization, WebDAV access and the creation of multiple profiles and filters, they can be sure that the latest versions of their files are available and safe. Using the backup client, both the file transfer and the stored data is protected from unauthorized access with 128-bit encryption.
"We are pleased to see U-SYNC, our first Taiwanese partner, successfully leveraging CM4all OnlineDrive to provide its customers with a state-of-the-art, cloud-based online storage solution," said Robert Schovenberg, CEO of Content Management AG. "With our highly scalable software, U-SYNC is well prepared to profit from the rapidly growing demand in this sector while keeping hardware costs at a competitive level."
The user interface of the Chinese-language version of CM4all OnlineDrive was adapted to Asia Pacific Telecom’s corporate design, and co-branded with U-SYNC’s logo. CM-AG safeguards the software’s availability with 24/7 support and updates both the operating system and the software application.
