Pure Storage Preparing to Raise $28 Million

After already receiving $25 million

According to a SEC filing, start-up Pure Storage, Inc. intends to raise $28 million after already receiving $5 million in Series A funding in 2009 and $20 million in Series B in 2010.

Born in 2009, the company, currently in private beta testing, is apparently working on SSD-based NAS and developing software to enhance the performance and dependability of these storage systems, based on the fact that: "Today’s virtualized, cloud and consolidated
database workloads are overwhelming traditional disk storage: 95% of
latency and power are consumed by disks seeking and rotating instead of
delivering data
