Becrypt Disk Protect Baseline v3.4.7 Software Now CESG Approved
For use with Windows 7 and Intel Centrino
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on June 16, 2011 at 2:29 pmBecrypt Limited announced that the latest version of its DISK Protect Baseline (v3.4.7) data security solution has achieved CESG certification.
DISK Protect Baseline is CESG-approved by the UK Government for use with restricted and confidential data up to Impact Levels 3 and 4, covering most data used within local government, the NHS and central government. It now supports Microsoft Windows 64 bit systems and the Intel Centrino wireless platform, used on the latest laptops.
Bernard Parsons, CEO at Becrypt said: "This certification widens the data security solution offerings that Becrypt can provide to customers. The compatibility with the latest technology means that our customers can keep up with the newest devices for smart mobile working, while ensuring that they have a CESG-approved product to deal with sensitive data."
DISK Protect Baseline secures data on desktop and laptop PCs with three layers of security – full disk encryption, strong pre-boot authentication and optional removable media encryption – without noticeable impact on performance or the user. Full disk encryption is performed transparently automatically, avoiding the risk that the user may forget to encrypt sensitive files.
Pre-boot authentication allows DISK Protect Baseline to encrypt the operating system and prevent data being accessed with low level tools. Dual factor authentication using a token or smart card prevents any unauthorised access. The optional removable media encryption secures all data on USB and other connected devices that may be used.
