Sans Digital Enhances EliteNAS
With IPV6 support, multiple NAS aggregation and OS mirroring
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on May 25, 2011 at 2:52 pmSans Digital has enhanced its EliteNAS series by implementing features to further simplify the administrative process.
All EliteNAS rackmounts, including 2U 8-bay EN208L+BXE, 2U 12-bay EN212L+BXE, 3U 16-bay EN316L+BXE, 4U 24-bay EN424L+BXE, and 8U 50-bay EN850L+BXE are now pre-installed with features such as IPV6 support, Multiple NAS Aggregation(single name space NAS expansion), as well as OS mirroring. Although complex sounding, these features allows management with user-friendly settings.
As IPV4 is becoming near depletion, the development of IPV6 (Internet Protocol version 6) has become a long term solution to solving the IP shortage crisis. This upgrade allows for much more flexibility in allocating IP addresses and efficiency for routing web traffic. The implementation of IPV6 allows EliteNAS owners to be prepared for the depletion of IPV4 addresses. At the same time, the EliteNAS also supports dual stack IP hosts, allowing it to run both IPV4 and IPV6 simultaneously. To ensure uninterrupted service on the NAS, the EliteNAs series supports OS mirroring along with the new management GUI interface. The optional Duo-Dom feature allows automatic fail over on the operating system disk or DOM (Disk on Module).
In addition, all EliteNAS running under Windows OS are now pre-installed with Multiple NAS Aggregation (single name space NAS expansion) feature, which allows the integration of multiple or additional NAS units under a common root folder. This simplifies the storage administration process, which in turn reduces the total cost of managing a storage environment. This feature also allows access and management of files, where data that are physically distributed across different storage devices appear under one drive letter where each NAS appears as a folder within that root drive. Users no longer need to spend time and effort to search for the physical location of the files in order to access them.
"Sans Digital EliteNAS series utilize the state of the art NAS technology including built-in hardware RAID and exceptional CPU processing power," said Stanley Chan, Director of Business Development of Sans Digital. "Features such as IPV6 support, OS Mirroring & Duo-Dom along with an ultra fast Intel processor (dual or quad core CPU) incorporated into the EliteNAS to ensure the highest performance and redundancy possible for your NAS application."
