V6.0 of InMage Scout Backup and DR CDP Software
For enterprise Unix and clustering
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on May 25, 2011 at 2:53 pmInMage announced version 6.0 of its Scout backup and disaster recovery software.
Based on continuous data protection (CDP) technology, InMage Scout is a single solution for local backup and replication of physical and virtual environments.
With this latest release, InMage Scout becomes the only unified product on the market featuring CDP-based backup and remote disaster recovery support for most major enterprise platforms, including Windows, AIX, Linux, VMware, Solaris, XenServer and Hyper-V. With this introduction, Scout becomes a product that features both asynchronous IP and synchronous FC-based data protection without imposing software-based storage virtualization on customers. InMage offers an advantage over competing products and provides heterogeneous storage support in any environment.
InMage Scout 6.0 also features extended Oracle support, including recovery wizards for Oracle on Linux/Unix and CDP-based support for Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC). This results in greater ease of use than any block-level replication products. The release also includes support for enterprise UNIX and clustering (AIX, Solaris clusters and Linux clusters). And with its scalability, InMage Scout offers organizations unified protection for hundreds of servers, both physical and virtual.
With this launch, InMage Scout 6.0 also introduces the PureSplit architecture allowing customers to use their existing storage without having to virtualize it though server appliances. This ensures a higher degree of stability and performance over other solutions. Customers no longer have to compromise the reliability and availability standards of Enterprise or Midrange arrays by introducing solutions that are not architected to the same standards.
"The new support of the AIX platform by InMage will greatly enhance customer’s capabilities for Business Recovery. The new AIX support follows the successful Continuous Data Protection (CDP) architecture that InMage has developed for other UNIX, Linux and Windows platforms," said Chris Dedham, Business Continuity Specialist, Mainline Information Systems. "The ability to leverage a single solution for both backup and replication reduces administration time and overall costs, and we can also scale easily and cost-effectively as needed, no matter what types of storage or platforms we add to our IT environment. As both a channel partner and user of the product, we’re pleased to offer InMage Scout to our customers with trust and confidence."
