SMEStorage CEO Ian Osborne stated: "We have had many enquiries about supporting OpenStack, both from small businesses who wish to leverage OpenStack as a private cloud solution, to start ups, larger businesses, and ISP’s who wish to use Swift storage as a non-proprietary storage platform. Customers can now use SMEStorage with OpenStack to rapidly deploy a full data center solution, which includes native desktop drives with sophisticated synchronisation solutions for Windows, Mac and Linux."
"On top of these they can leverage the rapid growth in mobility to just as easily offer sophisticated mobile clients for iPhone/iPad, Android, and BlackBerry, with Windows Mobile 7 also being released soon."
Integration with OpenStack Swift and SMEStorage is easy to setup within the online SMEStorage SaaS Cloud Platform, and the SMEStorage Cloud Appliance is now also Swift OpenStack ready.
SMEStorage also adds additional features to OpenStack which include AES 256 bit public/private key file encryption, GEO location integration a WebDav and FTP interface, and business API’s for managed files sharing, URL generation, file versioning, comments, ACL permissions and much more.
