This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on May 6, 2011 at 3:09 pmData Devices International, Inc. announces the Model 887 All-In-One Hard Drive Duplicator/Eraser, a machine to duplicate and erase SATA, SAS, IDE, SCSI, and Fiber Channel Hard Drives all in one machine.
The duplicator/eraser is designed to duplicate and/or erase all data from hard disk drives by duplicating from a single master to 1 or 2 target hard drives (depending on drive type) or erasing 3 hard drives simultaneously. It is lightweight and easy to carry, and the all-in-one machine erases hard drives to DoD specifications for security applications.
"This unique machine is the first All-In-One Hard Disk Drive duplicator/eraser to properly duplicate and erase all of the various kinds of hard drives found in every data center-Fiber Channel, SCSI, SAS, SATA, and IDE hard disk drives," said David Partridge, President of Data Devices International, Inc. "The All-In-One Hard Drive Duplicator includes Fiber Channel and SCSI capability which have not been included in previous machine designs."
The All-In-One Hard Drive Duplicator/Eraser is fast and offers duplication speeds up to 6 Gb/min for qualifying high speed hard drives. This machine can be used for testing, erasure, duplication, analysis, data recovery, and forensic acquisition. The machine is covered by a one year warranty, and extended warranties from two to five years can be added at the user’s option.
Data Devices is a data security company that offers depot repair and/or on-site maintenance contracts, as well as on-site training and installation of technical equipment. Our GSA Contract permits us to extend these offerings to all government users throughout the world.
As users are becoming more conscious about recycling and recyclable materials, erasing and reusing material such as hard disk drives can save the user time, space, liability, and money, while making a contribution to help the environment as encouraged by the U.S. Government.
In today’s litigious world, every organization must be vigilant about how they discard any data-carrying material, especially since the passing of laws, such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. However, with data erasure and disposal, there is a learning curve.
