Virsto Software Launches Partner Program
For its hypervisor-based storage virtualisation software
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on April 15, 2011 at 3:01 pmVirsto Software launched the Virsto Partner Program to address the growing market need for purpose-built storage solutions for virtual server and desktop environments.
The new partner program includes the company’s virtual server storage solution, Virsto VSI and its new virtual desktop storage solution Virsto VDI. Resellers from around the world can join by registering online and participating in a training and certification program.
"We see a tremendous need for products that address the I/O performance challenges in virtual environments to ensure that our customers realise the benefits and cost savings from their virtual infrastructure and storage investments," said Mike Machulsky, President at Software Logic, Inc. "Many customers who have virtualised their data centres and desktops have been forced to use storage offerings designed for physical not virtual environments. By partnering with Virsto, we can help our customers optimise their virtual environments by tackling the specific storage issues around virtualisation, including storage management and costs."
"The problems with storage in virtual server and desktop environments have been obvious to us for quite some time, and for many of our customers’ storage and performance issues are the biggest barriers to fully virtualising their environments," said Jaymes Davis, Virtualisation Practice Manager at Entisys. "We looked at a number of solutions before selecting Virsto because of its hypervisor-based, purpose-built approach to virtualisation. We are using Virsto in our existing and new accounts when they deploy server virtualisation and migrate to virtual desktops and have found it to accelerate VM performance and decrease the time it takes to recoup customer investments."
Participation in the Virsto partner program offers resellers the opportunity to become experts in storage management for virtualised environments. A Virsto Partner Certification increases storage expertise and allows partners to become advisor on storage requirements for Server virtualisation, Desktop virtualisation and private cloud projects. There is benefit to adding these skills to virtualisation practice.
Virsto partners enjoy the following benefits:
- Comprehensive sales and technical training on Virsto’s solution
- Knowledge transfer of storage management concepts
- Pre and post-sales support by Virsto partner sales team
- Joint marketing programs and sales tools like the Virsto SAN Sizer
- Redistribution of leads to channel partners for closing; and
- Integrated opportunity registration program that allows partners to register their deals directly into Virsto’s CRM tool and get additional discounts.
More than one dozen partners are already participating in the program including:
- Software Logic, Inc., Elijahtech, BayNODE in North America
- RealServe IT in the UK
- iSource in EMEA

Virsto is looking to identify services-oriented partners with mature virtualisation practices.
"Our partner program is a natural next step for Virsto, and it enables us to extend our storage and virtualisation expertise to partners," said Michael Mersch, Director, Channels at Virsto. "The Virsto Partner Program is hugely beneficial to resellers that work with virtualisation technologies and have been at the forefront of desktop virtualisation deployments as Virsto VSI and Virsto VDI optimise existing as well as new server virtualisation and desktop virtualisation deployments resulting in significant improvements in performance, increases in storage utilisation, and reduced cost."
