And updated version for BlackBerry smartphones
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on March 25, 2011 at 3:00 pmCarbonite announces additions to its ‘anytime, anywhere access’ lineup with the beta releases of Carbonite Access for iPad and v2.0 of Carbonite Access for iPhone/iPod touch. Additionally, Carbonite introduces an updated version of Carbonite Access for BlackBerry smartphones.
"Carbonite’s mobile applications make it possible to carry all of your digital files in your pocket," said David Friend, CEO of Carbonite. "Other cloud services invite you to upload a subset of your files, but Carbonite has everything, even if you back-up multiple computers. You never have to worry that the file you need is not in the cloud. That’s the advantage of unlimited backup with anytime, anywhere mobile access."
Carbonite Access for iPad, now available for free in the App Store, provides Carbonite subscribers with the ability to browse, view and share all of their backed up files.
With Carbonite Access for iPad, Carbonite subscribers can enjoy their backed up media in a number of ways including:
- Browsing of photos: Backed up photos can be previewed using thumbnails or quickly viewed full-screen using Carbonite’s integrated image gallery.
- On-demand access to presentations, documents and more: Any file type supported by iOS can be opened directly within the app and attached to an email with one tap.
- Access to backed up music: Audio files can be played within the Carbonite app in a matter of seconds. You no longer have to wait for the file to be downloaded before the music starts.
Carbonite has released upgrades for its iPhone/iPod Touch and BlackBerry Smartphone applications. These releases have the same photo viewing and music playing capabilities as Carbonite’s new iPad and existing Android applications.
Carbonite customers can download the applications from the AppStore, BlackBerry App World or the Carbonite website. In addition to mobile apps, Carbonite offers web access to backed up files from any computer via Carbonite.com.
