Glyph Updates Triplicator ($399)
With "remount" functionality
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on March 21, 2011 at 3:37 pmGlyph Production Technologies has updated the Triplicator with a requested feature: the ability to ‘remount’ a previous Triplicator drive set. Glyph began shipping remount-capable Triplicators to dealers March 10th, and they are available for $399 MAP.
This update allows a Triplicator and drive set to be re-powered, and upon power up, the Triplicator will discover and mount the previously created drive set. This allows to work with a Triplicator set the same way as you would a regular drive, while allowing to have three copies of your data on the target drives at the same time.
"The Triplicator is awesome. And the time savings are substantial. I’m curious why no one has made something like this before because it’s so obviously useful. It’s coming with me on all my jobs, that’s for sure," Ben Cain, NYC Video Engineering, Digital Cinema, High-Speed Imaging, S3D.
Jason Diamond uses his Triplicator in a RED Camera and Digital Lab workflow. "The new 2nd generation Triplicator will be a great addition to any data centric workflow, and I know it will save us quite a bit of time on set. Transfer speeds are as you would expect from a single drive, but the bonus is you’re copying to three drives instead of one," said Jason Diamond, NYC, MBS Productionshttp://mbsproductions.com.
The Triplicator enables to make multiple identical copies of your data simultaneously. It connects to a Mac or PC computer via eSATA, FireWire or USB. Two or three target hard drives connect to the Triplicator via eSATA ports. Power on the drives and the Triplicator, and an LED tells how many drives are attached. When you copy data through the Triplicator, identical data will be copied to all target drives, without having to make separate copies. The drives are ready to be used as individual originals for editing, backup and archiving.
