Foremay Produces Miniature SATA SSD Disk on Module

R/W up to 270 MB/s and capacity up to 240GB

Foremay, Inc. announced that its OC177 family SATA SSD Disk on Module (DOM) is in production. The SATA DOM is equipped with a standard SATA 3.0 Gb/s interface with backward support of SATA 1.5 Gb/s.

The flash disk module has a footprint of 2.5"x 1.7", with sustained read/write speeds up to 270 MB/s. It also has random IOPS for read/write speeds up to 25,000/15,000 with capacity up to 240GB.

"In addition to its compact size, one of the major advantages of our OC177 solid state drive family SATA DOM is its caseless design," said Jack Winters, CTO of Foremay. "This housing-free design allows our SATA DOM to have better heat dissipation from both sides of the PCB, which essentially results in improved reliability when the SATA DOM is equipped in any compact size computing machine and whenever it is running in an overheated environment."
