Viking Modular Reveals 32GB SLC CompactFlash

In one-inch form factor

Technology division of Sanmina-SCI Corporation, Viking Modular Solutions, provider and manufacturer of DRAM technology and Solid State Storage solutions, announced the availability of two products to the embedded and network infrastructure storage markets – the  DDR3 4GB Very Low Profile (VLP) Mini Registered DIMM and the 32GB SLC CompactFlash.

Each product will enable performance capabilities to OEMs who require reliability and high capacity solutions in dense system designs. Viking Modular was showcasing both products at the Embedded World Conference in Nurnberg, Germany, March 1-3, 2011.

Viking Modular’s DDR3 4GB delivers the highest density JEDEC compliant 244-pin VLP MiniRDIMM, for applications that are suited for demanding environmental conditions including blade servers, storage bridge bay (SBB) and a variety of embedded computing systems. Delivered through Viking Modular’s packaging leadership and expertise, the DDR3 4GB VLP MiniRDIMM supports several features critical to the embedded and network infrastructure markets, including small form factor with excellent signal integrity, industrial temperature with thermal management, testing and JEDEC compliance.

With expertise in embedded SSD and storage solutions, Viking Modular’s 32GB SLC CompactFlash ushers in a flash storage in a 1-inch form factor. This solution allows capacity requirements previously only achieved through larger form factor HDDs. The shift from HDDs to high capacity CF will reduce energy consumption and footprint, as well as reduce overall total cost of ownership (TCO).

"Viking Modular has a strong commitment to the embedded and network infrastructure markets, and we have created innovative solutions that address the specific needs of these companies," said Adrian Proctor, Vice President of Marketing for Viking Modular Solutions. "The DDR3 4GB VLP MiniRDIMM and our 32GB SLC CompactFlash Card allow our OEM customers to increase performance and optimize their end solutions, regardless of whether they use a new or existing platform."
