Strato HiDrive App for Android and iPhone

Online storage system also features DVD Send-in service and mail upload.

Strato AG has announced its new HiDrive app for Android and iPhone/iPad, making it easier for users to access HiDrive from a smartphone.

A place for data to be saved, stored and accessed off site, Strato is also adding a DVD Send-In Service, so Strato can handle large data uploads for HiDrive customers. New Mail Upload and Upload Share features allow for the upload of files to HiDrive without having to log in. The HiDrive app for iPhone/iPad will be available in the App Store and the Android app can be download from Strato’s website.

The new HiDrive app will allow customers to use the online storage platform effortlessly while working remotely. By entering a username and password, files stored on HiDrive (eg. music, pictures, documents), can be accessed and sent. As data is streamed (initially only available for the iOS version), there is no waiting time, even with large movie files.

Damian Schmidt, CEO of Strato commented: "We are giving people who want high performance, secure and cost effective online storage even more reason to use HiDrive. With our new apps for Android and iPhone, we are catering to the way people live and work – making storing, accessing and sharing information even easier."

The DVD send-in service costs £2 per DVD. The DVD must include an individual ID file provided by Strato and the data to be uploaded to HiDrive. With the mail-upload service as well as the upload share, customers can let friends or colleagues upload content to their HiDrive without creating new user accounts.

Strato HiDrive
HiDrive is a new online storage product from Strato for data to be safely stored and shared. It offers a range of protocols and a secure online environment. Providing for unlimited traffic with no file type or size restrictions, HiDrive behaves just like a normal hard disk with users able to access and manipulate data as if it was stored locally. Up to 500GB of HiDrive storage is available in the UK at a cost of £9 total for the first six months, after which users pay a monthly subscription of £19.
