Scality Raised $7 Million
Funding led by French investor IdiInvest
By Jean Jacques Maleval | February 28, 2011 at 3:09 pmHeadquartered in SF, CA with R&D in Paris, France, cloud storage system provider Scality (formerly BizangaStore) secured $7 million Series B round of funding led by French investor Idinvest Partners, member of idi Group and former subsidiary of Allianz.
The new funding will be partly used to add a sales and services office in New York.
In the first funding round, management and employees invested $1.3 million, with 85% of employees electing to invest. The start-up completes $5 million in Series A funding in June 2010 from Credit Agricole Private Equity, French VC and Galileo. Total is now at $13 million.
