Raidon Stardom Sohoraid SR5

5-bay RAID for 3.5-inch 3Gb SATA HDDs ($1,199 without drives)

RAIDON Technologies announced that the STARDOM SOHORAID SR5 is shipping.

The SOHORAID SR5 is a five-drive RAID storage system for 3.5" SATA II
3Gb/s hard drives that allows for user configurable RAID configuration,
through the LCD interface on the front of the unit.

The SOHORAID SR5 provides hardware RAID levels of 0, 1, 0+1, 3, 5 and 6 with RAID 6 being the most fault-tolerant, offering protection in the event that 2 drives fail.

The SOHORAID SR5 is a cost-effective, standalone storage solution with a
built-in, multi-level hardware RAID controller that works independently
from other computer peripherals. With 3Gb eSATA, FireWire 800 and USB 2.0 connectivity,
the SR5 provides convenience for editors on the go, a storage volume
companion for Mac Book Pro machines. Expansion is available thanks to
the SOHORAID SR5’s 2 FireWire 800 ports which allow multiple units to be
daisy-chained. With a compact footprint, the SR5 supplies cooling via a
large, quiet, 9cm ball-bearing fan. An internal auto-switching,
universal, internal power supply keeps cable clutter to a minimum.

SOHORAID SR5 Features:

  • Alarm indication in the event of fan failure, drive failure, or overheating issue
  • USB 2.0, FireWire 800 (2 ports) and eSATA  (one cable for each port type is included)
  • Daisy-Chainable through FireWire 800
