PowerFile Apparently Closed Its Doors

Last product launched in 2009 was an hybrid storage appliance combining disk array and Blu-ray.
The company was founded in 1998 and based in Foster City, CA, CEO being Kirk Dunn and one of the board’s directors being Dan Warmenhoven, former CEO of NetApp. CTO was Alexander Miroshnichenko who spent 12 years at Veritas where he held a number of R&D positions, including senior director of the Advanced Technology Group.
The start-up got a total of $14 million in financial funding.
On the 635 storage start-ups we have recorded since many years, 120 or 19% have closed their doors like PowerFile.
