Q4 2010 marked the company’s 14th consecutive growth quarter with a 15% increase over the previous quarter. During the quarter the company expanded its customer base to more than 845 customers and gained significant new market share. ExaGrid grew 50% percent from 2009 to 2010.
Along with strong sales results and double-digit percentage quarter over quarter growth, the company continued to execute in a variety of important areas during the quarter.
Key achievements in Q4 and throughout 2010
include the following:
- Growing Market Share: With more than 845 customers, ExaGrid continued to grow its customer base and worldwide market share, adding 100 new customers in Q4. ExaGrid has the industry’s largest installed base of GRID-scalable disk backup appliances with data deduplication in mid-market and small enterprise companies, with more than 3,200 systems installed worldwide. Nearly half of ExaGrid’s customers have completely eliminated tape in their storage environments using ExaGrid appliances for both onsite and offsite disaster recovery.
- Worldwide Channel Growth: ExaGrid continued to grow its base of channel partners to more than 400 reseller partners, including a growing number of regional value-added resellers. ExaGrid delivered a record percentage of the company’s business through channel partners and continues to successfully scale its global channel sales model to meet growing business demands.
- Industry Recognition and Leadership: ExaGrid earned a number of industry achievements in 2010, including the following: ExaGrid’s disk backup with deduplication appliance was named the Backup and Disaster Recovery Hardware Product of the Year by Storage magazine. Winners were determined by ratings on six key criteria: innovation, performance, easy integration into existing environments, ease of use and manageability, as well as robust functionality and high value to end-users. As one of the judges stated, "ExaGrid remains one of the few vendors thinking about how a system grows with the customer. Kudos on taking it to the next level." ExaGrid was also named One to Watch by Storage magazine at the annual Storage Awards in London. ExaGrid customer, Poulin Grain, was named one of five finalists for SNW/Computerworld’s Best Practices Award for its installation of the ExaGrid solution.
- Product Enhancements: During the quarter, ExaGrid added zone-level deduplication, the first deduplication algorithm that allows for both generic and content aware deduplication while maintaining performance scalability. ExaGrid also introduced a new platform for its EX1000 through EX5000 models in a smaller form factor, offering higher performance at a cost-effective price.
