The laptop represents the third collaboration between Toshiba and Best Buy as part of the retailer’s Blue Label initiative.
At an inch and a quarter thin and weighing less than five pounds, the Champagne-colored Satellite E305 features an exclusive design, hallmarked by a lightweight aluminum cover and sturdy case with an LED-backlit raised tile keyboard, a touch pad design with seamless right and left mouse buttons, and a tray-loading Blu-ray drive. The laptop features a 2nd generation Intel Core i5 processor, which provides improved adaptive performance that adds speed when needed as well as built-in visual capabilities for a better entertainment experience.
"Our customers are looking for laptops that give them more wireless freedom with high-end features in a thin and light, stylish package. Through our close relationship with Toshiba, we’ve created a laptop that perfectly meets those needs at a very affordable price," said Jason Bonfig, vice president of computers at Best Buy. "The Satellite E305 is perfect for anyone who wants a state of the art laptop to master their fast-paced lifestyle."
Since their arrival in fall 2008, products resulting from the Best Buy You Spoke, We Listened program have changed the dynamics of how computers and other technology are developed. Each generation originates with insight gleaned from sources such as Best Buy’s own customers and employees into desired features, styling and performance. The company then works closely with Toshiba to translate those customer expectations into a unique laptop design that solves for customer needs with the right hardware and functionality.
"Toshiba and Best Buy continue to work hard to bring customer-centric laptops like the Satellite E305 to life," said Carl Pinto, vice president of product development, Toshiba America Information Systems, Digital Products Division. "We’ve packed this laptop with advanced technology so consumers can get the performance needed to enjoy the ultimate in entertainment while balancing their desires for easy mobility."

Toshiba seems to be one of the first OEM - with Asus - to integrate an
hybrid drive into a PC. It's probably the Seagate Momentus XT. Note that
Toshiba is a competitor of Seagate in 2.5-inch HDDs but has not
revealed any hybrid unit up to now. Strange also this choice as Toshiba is a well-known SSD maker. But we have remarked since many years that there was some walls between Toshiba's divisions.
USB 3.0 connector is also very rare
on notebooks.
