In ArchiveOne V6, C2C Simplifies Information Management
By optionally re-aligning it to become an organization responsibility
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on December 24, 2010 at 3:12 pmC2C Systems announced its ArchiveOne Version 6. The most significant step is the ability to simplify information management by optionally re-aligning it to become an organization responsibility, thereby reducing the burden on the IT department.
With ArchiveOne v6 business users such as legal, compliance or human resources can take control of retention, discovery and preservation directly without involving IT. This allows IT to focus on infrastructure to set up and manage consistent, repeatable archiving for those that need it. Unlike all other archival technologies, ArchiveOne does not have to commit data to the archive before it can be searched or placed on legal hold. This eliminates the risks of retaining unnecessary information which may later become an organizational liability.
"We are all well aware of the IT benefits that archiving delivers to an organization. What has yet to be maximized are the business benefits of enforcing retention policies as new requirements emerge or immediately satisfying legal hold requests. These tasks are often left for IT to do because they own the archive system. C2C eliminates this delay empowering critical line of business users, who are impacted by compliance and discovery policy changes, to make the modifications in real time," says Brian Babineau, Senior Consulting Analyst, Enterprise Strategy Group, Inc.
In re-aligning the tasks, C2C has overturned the traditional boundaries of archiving. Retention management and eDiscovery are no longer subsets of email archiving, so the company can create their own emphasis between discovery, retention management and email archiving to suit their business needs. Knowledge workers no longer need to think about archiving in order to achieve their discovery and retention objectives.
"Customers are seeking solutions that deliver policy-based retention management and disposition, legal hold and early case assessment, in a clear and cost-effective manner without boundaries," said Dave Hunt, C2C CEO. "C2C is on the cutting edge of solving customers’ issues, one of which is the need to selectively retain information based upon different criteria, regardless of the location or state of the data. The emphasis of Version 6 is the ability to permit knowledge workers to handle the tasks in an intuitive style familiar to the job function and in an manner which will not overburden the IT department. This is why Version 6 sets the course for our Company’s future".
The platform of ArchiveOne will deliver new applications and reports that focus on the business problems of knowledge workers in their management of business and users and the information they control.
