Infortrend ESVA E60 Deployed by Duralee Fabrics

To accommodates future growth

Success oftens leads to expanding corporate resources and in the case of Duralee Fabrics, Ltd., their rapid growth outpaced their IT storage solution. With storage capacity shrinking and no ability to scale their current system, Duralee went looking for a new storage solution that would accommodate its growing operations.

Centralizing storage functions, simplifying management tasks and expanding capacity were among the company’s chief goals. With these issues in mind, Duralee commenced a search for a new storage solution that would be able to connect to multiple servers while featuring large capacity, simple management and easy expansion.

In addition, Duralee was looking for ways to consolidate its storage systems, enabling them to work with different servers. The company hoped that consolidation would also lead to easier management. In addition, Duralee needed a storage solution that could not only meet their current capacity demands, but would also be able to accommodate future data growth. Finally, data migration was an important issue for Duralee. With its existing solution, data replication was done at the file level using third-party software, and the company wanted to find a solution that was more efficient and less demanding for the host servers.

After reviewing many different offerings, Duralee selected the ESVA (Enterprise Scalable Virtualized Architecture) E60 storage solution from Infortrend. The ESVA E60 enabled Duralee to support a high-availability IP SAN, allowing multiple servers to connect to the ESVA storage array and enabling Duralee to centrally manage the storage solution. Infortrend’s ESVA E60 solution met the challenge with storage virtualization, simplified management with SANWatch software, quick installation and maintenance, large capacity that can be expanded, storage-based data replication without downtime and a competitive pricing structure.

According to Joseph Muscarella, networking telecommunication manager for Duralee, "Infortrend’s EVSA E60 gives us the biggest bang for our buck in an enterprise-grade product. The ease of use of SANWatch combined with the ESVA E60 made it simple to set up and maintain."

Thomas Kao, director of product planning at Infortrend, noted: "By deploying our ESVA E60, Duralee is reaping the benefits of a high-performance storage solution that is specifically designed to help mid-range enterprises maximize productivity, while optimizing return on investment and simplifying storage infrastructure."
