State Fund Agriculture Implements Solution From S&T Bulgaria
With replication between CLARiiON disk arrays
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on December 2, 2010 at 3:04 pmS&T Bulgaria has designed and implemented a data transfer solution for State Fund Agriculture (SFA). It increases the reliability of data storage and continuous availability of sensitive financial information.
In a short time frame S&T has designed and developed a solution for synchronous and asynchronous transfer of information between the EMC CLARiiON series of disk arrays. S&T Bulgaria will provide a 36-month warranty service and maintenance for the State Fund Agriculture.
The State Fund Agriculture was established in 1998 by virtue of the Agricultural Producers Support Act and has 28 regional offices. Through this fund Bulgarian farmers receive financial support from state and European aid funds. The SFA has very strong guidelines for the archiving and storage of data, which requires a highly performing and accessible system.
Securing information transfer
S&T ensured the data replication between the systems available in the main data center and the backup data center, which is located more than 120 kilometers away. The disk arrays and the SAN (Storage Area Network) infrastructure have been updated and brought to a new level.
"Since 2007 State Fund Agriculture has also had the functions of a paying agency which allocates European financial resources for the implementation of the Common Agricultural and Fisheries Policy. Dealing with European funds requires a very high level of information security. In this regard, setting up the backup center and the transfer of information between the two centers are crucial for the agency operations", comments Evgeni Hinkov, Head of IT department at State Fung Agriculture.
