UK Rise Launches Cloud Recovery Services Based on Vision Solutions

With Double-Take Availability and RecoverNow

Vision Solutions, Inc. announced that Rise, a hosted IT infrastructure provider in the UK, is using the Double-Take Availability and RecoverNow products to support a launch of cloud-based business continuity, backup and disaster recovery services. Rise’s channel partners will be able to provide levels of protection for their customers’ critical data, based on the real-time data replication capabilities that the Double-Take solutions provide.

The Rise business continuity and disaster recovery offerings are tiered to provide backup, recovery and high availability solutions that can meet the needs of different organisations, from simplified backup and recovery services through to high availability and one hour workload restores.

These break down into three categories:

  • Real-time replication of customer data into the Rise cloud, with the ability to recover individual file and emails or entire servers back to the customer site
  • Real-time replication of customer data over to Rise, with rapid recovery of workloads into the Rise cloud
  • High Availability for critical workloads, with failover into the cloud

Ian Masters, UK sales director for Vision Solutions, commented: "This partnership with Rise offers businesses of all sizes a fast, simple method for protecting their critical applications, data and server workloads. Working with Vision Solutions, Rise provides a platform that can scale up or down to support organisations’ requirements for the safety of their data at the price point and recovery time objectives that suit them. By allowing customers the option to run their DR workloads in the cloud, Rise effectively reduces the potential window of downtime associated with an incident, helping customers to get back to normal working conditions faster."

Vision Solutions’ Double-Take products are all based on the real-time replication of data to provide high availability, disaster recovery and migration capabilities.

Alex Hilton, sales director at Rise said: "The opportunity is there for the channel to offer business continuity facilities that can match their customers current budget levels and data protection requirements. SME and public sector organisations will have to look again at how they approach the safety of their data given their constraints on existing skills and budgets. Using a trusted third party to host data off-site can represent a significant saving over traditional backup and recovery methods such as tape."

Channel partners are able to resell the Rise recovery services or white-label the service under their own branding. Alongside disaster recovery, Rise also offers opportunities for partners to sell Cloud Managed Services as a complete solution, including disaster recovery alongside infrastructure, network and security services such as managed firewalls, VPNs and VLANs within the package.
