This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on December 1, 2010 at 3:23 pmCA Technologies announces that Real Madrid C.F., one of the most successful and renowned soccer clubs in the world, is using CA Technologies’ ARCserve Backup software to ensure the protection, availability and recovery of all the Club’s corporate data and systems.
Real Madrid C.F. uses CA ARCserve to protect its entire information systems, from databases and email to business process systems such as HR, finance, and CRM. Ten terabytes of data is stored across thirty servers and the storage area network that form the data centre’s centralized architecture located at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. The use of CA ARCserve will be extended to virtualized environments that are currently being implemented.
José Manuel Peña Arroyo, IT Manager, Real Madrid C.F., says: "Thanks to CA ARCserve we know that our data is protected, and we can ensure business continuity and compliance. The reliability of the product is the most remarkable characteristic, as well as its easy adaptation, and responsiveness to our evolving needs, all of it at an optimum cost."
The best practices established by the Club’s IT department include recovery tests executed on a regular basis to verify the correct performance of the process and system in place. Reactive recoveries on user demands are requested via CA Service Desk, a CA Technologies software implemented at Real Madrid as the corporate helpdesk solution.
"We are delighted to be working with Real Madrid, a highly respected football club which clearly understands how to maximize their performance with good data recovery and back-up. Real Madrid’s decision to use CA ARCServe is supporting their backup and recovery strategy so the club can keep running at the speed it needs to keep one step ahead, both on and off the field," says Chris Ross, Vice President of Data Management in EMEA and APAC, CA Technologies.
