NetApp has chastised rivals for "spreading rumours" that it had played a pivotal role in Virgin Blue’s IT disaster in September.
Virgin Blue is seeking between $15 million and $20m from IT supplier Navitaire, a division of Accenture, for its role in the consecutive system failures. NetApp Australia chief Peter O’Connor said he wanted to set the record straight following media reports NetApp gear was responsible for the meltdown that ultimately forced cancellation of flights, inconveniencing thousands of passengers.
