Core Consultancy Moves to iomart Hosting Data Centers
Consolidating its storage operations
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on August 9, 2010 at 4:11 pmDisaster recovery and business continuity specialist Core Consultancy has consolidated its data storage operations by moving to iomart Hosting data centres.
Core Consultancy described the move to iomart Hosting’s Maidenhead and London data centres as a strategic decision which would enable it to offer an ‘executive’ class service to its customers.
Sharad Saggar, account director at Core Consultancy, said: "iomart Hosting offers the first class data centre infrastructure that will allow us to offer the best service possible to our customers. It is also a partner we can work with strategically in the future to help grow our business."
The Core Consultancy DataSafe Business Continuity Service is a managed service which uses an onsite appliance to quickly recover servers and desktops in the case of data loss.
However, in the event of a major incident such as theft, flood or fire, DataSafe customers can instantly access virtual servers running critical applications directly from an iomart data centre via an internet connection in as little as 15 minutes. In addition to ‘Instant Virtualisation’ technology, the backup data stored at iomart allows a client’s IT environment to be quickly rebuilt to new hardware at an alternative site without disruption to the business.
Using iomart Hosting’s data centres in Maidenhead and London also means that Core Consultancy has been able to consolidate its supply chain and therefore its business costs.
Sarah Haran, managing director of iomart Hosting, said: "Core Consultancy works with the SME market where business uptime is critical. The resilience that we have across both our sites ensures that we can guarantee Core Consultancy’s data service will be available and operating normally 100 per cent of the time."
Core Consultancy won Specialist Business Continuity and Disaster recovery Company of the Year at the Business Continuity Awards 2010 for its DataSafe High-Availability service which protects hundreds of terabytes of data for SMEs across the UK.
Sarah Haran added: "We understand what high availability really means, which is why we have engineered our entire data centre and network infrastructure to avoid any single point of failure."
Unlike the majority of managed hosting companies iomart Hosting owns and manages its data centres offering more than 4,850 square metres of advanced data centre technology in five major UK cities. Each data centre is powered, secure, resilient and equipped to handle the demands of future computing trends.
